Actually twelve but two are mains that are unused in a 120V amp. There are only 10 pins on the replacement PT. What I have in wires in the amp that connected to the dead PT are:Įleven wires in all. The brown twisted pair runs from the PT to the preamp board. There are also two twisted browns that seem related to the standby system but I have no idea where to hook up either them or the grey to the new PT. I don't understand the standby system in the amp, a grey wire from the PT goes to the standby switch then a fuse and seem to connect to or complete the or a ground on the filter cap board? Has anyone done this installation and saved a cheat sheet? The replacement Hammond PT is well labled. I can easily, and have, bench run, the tranny to find out what it is doing but the amp and schmatic are not labled with test points and almost no voltages are listed. Everything else is a connector on the transformer. The replacement transformer comes with only with preamp heater wires attached and their center tap. It is the only schematic I could find for a tube rectified RI which this amp is. I have the seemingly correct schematic from Vox but it doesn't match the amp well at all, latest version AC30 RI. I'm stumped not to mention I really don't like PC boards much. Has anyone done a power tranny swap in one of these amps? I'm having some issues.
